Where's the Fire?

This year was the first time that I ever kept up with the World Cup. Sadly, when I tried to discuss it with people all I got was a bunch of "AMERICANS ARE IGNORANT AND CANT ENJOY THE SPORT", "ITS FOOTBALL, NOT SOCCER", or if I was talking to anyone in the USA, it was simply, "I don't care, shits boring yo". While I can understand why someone would or wouldn't like the sport, I wondered to myself, "How could they make the sport more exciting?". I've thought this before about other sports and activities... Too many of them are similar, how could they makes themselves different and more exquisite?

I came to a very simple conclusion, add fire. Pretty much any sport would be 50x better if all the players were in constant fear of having their skin burned off. Take soccer/football for example. Could you imagine having burning pits covering 1/10 of the field while flamethrowers attached to the goalpost shoot fire out randomly? Maybe volcanoes could appear abruptly on the field and spew out lava. Lava would be a bit extreme though. Athletes getting torched is fun and exciting, but we don't want any deaths. Maybe the lava could be replaced with like boiling Mountain Dew or something, I have no idea. All I know is we'd be taking a sport and making it better.

In all seriousness though, I'd love to a see a new sport brought into the mix. All I have to look forward to is the MLB postseason (bleh) and the NFL regular season (Lions fan here, always disappointed). There should be more going on right now....and whatever new thing that is introduced better have fire hazards.
